This very day 3 years ago… My phone rang and I saw it was my Granny. We had just celebrated her 79th birthday that weekend and I figured she was calling to chat about it! I knew from how she said my name when I picked up something was wrong. Everything went silent as she told me her bronchitis was misdiagnosed and she had lung cancer. I remember feeling angry and confused and asking her "How?? You have never smoked? They have it wrong!" The reality facing her wasn't wrong. She had a grave diagnosis but she chose to fight. She underwent surgery and treatments for a few months to no avail. With every ounce of will and strength I saw her battle but sadly she lost her fight. Many of you saw as I documented her journey. She kept telling me how she wanted to inform others and inspire them! So in her honor I carry on her wish! I see her absence as an opportunity. The opportunity to speak and share, to unite with others, to help raise awareness, to meet others fighting, to walk with those who know loss, and to make a change in her honor! So inspired by Doris' determined spirit. I set a goal of $10,000 for my walk in LA. I am donating proceeds from my birthday to kick us off! BUT I NEED YOUR HELP!! I need you to participate in any way you can… Spread awareness, share the facts, volunteer, walk with me, join my Team DD, and please donate! LINK IN MY BIO!! I would be honored to see you beside me on November 20, 2016 in Los Angeles!!

‘Shooter’ Premiere Pushed to Fall

USA Network has pushed the premiere of conspiracy thriller Shooter to the fall, EW has learned.

Sources say the studio and the network are standing behind Shooter, which tells a very different story than what’s happening in real life in the news — the show features a military veteran and American hero wrongfully accused of a crime — but feel the timing isn’t appropriate.

Shooter is based on the 2007 Mark Wahlberg film of the same name, which was itself based on Stephen Hunter’s novel Point of Impact. The series stars Ryan Phillippe as a former Marine marksman who is forced to revisit his treacherous past after learning of a conspiracy to kill the president.

USA Delays ‘Shooter’ Premiere in Wake of Dallas Sniper Attack

The premiere of Shooter has been rescheduled to July 26, a week later than the original air date.

In the wake of yet another tragedy, USA has opted to postpone the premiere of forthcoming series Shooter.

The sniper drama, which opens with the sound of a gunshot along with real-life images of historical incidents of gun violence, is being held a week given the recent attack in downtown Dallas where, in the wee hours of July 7, a heavily armed sniper with a checkered military background gunned down a cadre of police officers, leaving five of them dead.

“In light of recent tragic events and out of respect for the victims, their families and our viewers, we have decided to postpone the premiere date for the upcoming USA Network series Shooter to July 26,” a network spokesperson said Monday in a statement. The unfortunately titled series’ 10-episode first season had been set to launch at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Tuesday, July 19.
